Resort Collection 2016
Brass Tacks is a women’s fashion label that works with hand-crafted textiles
to create modern and comfortable clothing.
The brief given by the client involved coming up with
print designs for block and screen print for Resort 2016 Collection, inspired from
botanical illustrations from the Lal Bagh Botanical Garden archives
that the owner had accessed during her travels.
The approach involved interpreting the inspiration, through
the subtle details in the illustrations - the texture, layers and silhouettes in plantlife.
The designs were printed on khadi cotton, chanderi/crepe silk
and linen. After colorway options were proposed, the final colorways,
choice of fabric and garment patterns were determined by the client.
